ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Jess Vestal

MY BACKGROUND

I was raised in Chicago, Illinois, before creating a family of my own and making the leap to Littleton Colorado—drawn by the district’s strong reputation for educational excellence, and Autism resources. Unfortunately, my own family’s experience exposed gaps in how well we live up to that reputation for every child. After learning of my sons abuse on his school bus, a fire was lit that fueled my commitment to ensuring Littleton Public Schools truly serves students of all walks of life, abilities, races, identities, and backgrounds.

My professional journey has always centered on learning and supporting others. I began as a preschool assistant teacher, later working in ABA Therapy, and have consistently followed my children through their educational paths—immersing myself in best practices to better advocate for them and for others. Today, I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant while pursuing further studies in Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Classical Sociological Theory, and Neuroeconomics.

I am an advocate for all children, who believes in coming to the table ready to listen, stay objective, and collaborate on solutions that are both equitable and practical. I am deeply committed to validating the lived experiences of families in our district and ensuring our schools adapt to meet the needs of all students.

MY VISION FOR LITTLETON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

A Candidate for Every Student, Not a Single Issue

While my personal experiences have shaped my passion for public education, I am not running to advance a single issue or personal agenda. By gaining a seat on the board, my power lies within my vote, and I am only one person. My focus is on the entire student population and the broad range of challenges and opportunities our district faces. By introducing and collaborating on policies ranging from academic excellence, teacher retention to mental health resources, budget priorities, community engagement, and beyond we can build upon the district, not take away from or derail.

I believe school board members must approach decisions with an open mind, listen to all perspectives, and work toward solutions that serve the greater good. Every choice I make will be guided by what is fair, sustainable, and in the best interest of all students and families—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance.
